You get together with other people in the street who say they are fed up with the noise too and want it to stop. You go to the noisy neighbours' house, ring the bell, and tell them that you will smash up their house and beat them up if they don't keep quiet at night.
The next night, there is just as much noise as ever. You get your group of friends together and go and hammer on the noisy neighbours' door. Suddenly, a loud barking begins inside the house. The door opens.
The noisy neighbours have got a large, ferocious-looking dog that barks and growls at you. You look behind you and discover that your group of so-called friends has disappeared, leaving you alone to face the dog. You back off as the dog starts snarling and advancing towards you.
Obviously, violence is not the answer.
